Recent Fraudulent Debit Card Phone Calls
October 7, 2011 - It has come to our attention that fraudulent phone calls have been made to a few of our customers in reference to their Hometown Bank debit card. The caller has stated that he/she is calling to verify data on the card in reference to the bank’s recent name change and then asks for information on the card, such as account number and expiration date.
This call is a scam and an attempt to trick you into giving out information pertaining to your debit card. We will never call asking you to provide or update your information. You provide us with that information at the time your account is opened and your card is issued.
If you receive such a call, we would appreciate it if you would contact our Operations Department at 1-800-458-8190 and provide us with the information so that we can take appropriate actions.
